Reading time: just over 4 minutes.
I know, it’s a bloody catchy title *winks*
Anyways, today I want to talk about an amazing place in London, which I had the chance to check out a few times.
I know, it’s in the depth of Vauxhall – which still feels like Mid World to me, must say – but fear you not. You are in for a treat.
The Foundry is not the easiest to find – but if you are committed enough – and have better sense of direction that I do – you will have no problem. The gym offers unique group lead coaching to target individual goals – including (from the website) Fat Loss, Tone up and Build Strength, Cardiovascular Fitness, Flexibility or Sports Performance.
They pride themselves as the most enjoyable, effective, safe workouts in London – and trust me on this, they are bloody right on being uniquely enjoyable as hell.
🏋️♀️| What a day ladies and gents…or I should say week? However, I am still grinning after this kickass @foundryfit class run by @bicepsandbronzer yesterday. A lot of awesome STRONGWOMEN showed up, and we even had some team bonding as I brought @life_bylaura with me. Swipe for some good hammer action 🔨
Welcome City Strongman.
City Strongman is The Foundry’s signature class
It was created by former Gymbox PT Ben Gotting.
City Strongman makes use of all the equipment you’d see being used on the World’s Strongest Man circuit – focusing on lower loads to target strength, fat burning and a good sweat (still encouraging students from all levels to join in).
To make it clear, think log lifting, sled dragging, prowler pushing (my fave) and atlas stone carrying.
Once again, to get a bit more technical:
Modified Strongman Training (MST) is a really sexy trend in the fitness industry of late and City Strongman are at the forefront of this movement. Our progressive adaptive system will get you results like you have never experienced before, whilst using some really cool pieces of kit.
The classes really feel effortlessly quick and to the point – this is an indicator that the clock is racing up when you are having fun – and the challenges are multiple and exciting.
To be honest, flipping a tyre may leave horrendous bruises, but it’s dang worth it. Just to give you a better idea of what to expect, this amazing video from Laura’s (@bicepsandbronzer) awesome Strongwoman class for IWD below.
Do not forget to check the Foundry out for serious strength training with a twist. I could not recommend it enough.
